Sony Announces PlayStation State of Play Broadcast For This Week

This week, PlayStation will present an extensive State of Play stream packed with news and updates, including insights from its PlayStation Studios.

PlayStation is preparing for a significant State of Play event this week, where fans can expect over an hour of exciting news and announcements, including the latest from its in-house development teams. Scheduled for this Thursday, February 12 at 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern / 10pm UK time, the broadcast promises to deliver a substantial showcase. Fans are eager to see what surprises PlayStation has lined up. The last major State of Play event took place in September 2025 and offered fans an in-depth look at Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, the studio responsible for the popular Spider-Man games. In addition to Wolverine, the event featured titles like Saros, the upcoming project from Housemarque, and third-party games such as Battlefield 6 and Nioh 3. Following that, a smaller State of Play in November 2025 was dedicated to Japanese titles, showcasing games like Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the Elden Ring expansion titled The Forsaken Hollows, and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. With excitement building, fans are particularly eager for updates on Wolverine and Saros, as well as a potential release date for the former. Bungie's long-awaited Marathon is also anticipated, with its launch set for March 5, just weeks away. While Saros is confirmed for release on April 30, Wolverine is expected to debut in the latter half of this year. Given that GTA 6 is set for November 16, a summer release for Wolverine seems plausible. Recent hints from Insomniac Games suggest that Wolverine may cross paths with Daredevil in the game. Additionally, the recently revealed multiplayer Horizon spin-off, Hunters Gathering, could see further details. Upcoming third-party games for the PS5 include Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories 3 and Pragmata, which recently appeared in a Nintendo showcase, along with Square Enix's Life is Strange Reunion, IO Interactive's 007 First Light, and Warner Bros. Games' Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The announcement of this week's State of Play means that all three major gaming platforms will have conducted some form of broadcast in the initial six weeks of 2026. Nintendo fans, however, are still hopeful for a dedicated Nintendo Direct to share more about the company's games, including potential news on a new 3D Mario. Stay tuned for all the updates and announcements from this week's State of Play, which will be covered live.
